Minas Gerais is the Brazilian State with the largest investment in Public Security. Between 2003 and 2007 R$ 16.6 billions were invested in social defense agencies, guaranteeing greater efficiency in the work combating violence. The result is a drop in violent crime rates which comes from a management model based on police integration and strategic planning, involving preventive and repressive actions. Proof of the commitment of the government to its citizens.
